Old San Juan


The iguanas, known here also as “gallinas de palo,” arrived in the 1970s as exotic mascots in pet shops but people released them when they started getting too big. Although some people seem to have a problem with them because since they are not part of the natural habitat, they are quite beautiful and totally harmless. They actually run away if you get to close. This one is young.
