The Secret is SIMPLICITY!
Although I completely understand that we all see things differently, if I can get anyone to think a little bit more about the choices they are constantly making, then it is all worth it. The world needs more people who think for themselves. And although that’s part of the intention as to why I am writing this article, I am going to keep it simple by enjoying the opportunity and making sure that I don’t get to caught up in whether or not you like or agree with what I am saying.
For many years I have been paying attention to the relationship between what’s going on with me personally and the quality of my experiences. For that reason I have been able to make some gigantic changes, which includes everything I do from the moment I get up every morning. Today I can honestly say that simplicity plays a big role in my lifestyle. Plus I don’t complicate my life anymore by worrying about what others may think or say about me, or if they want to be my Facebook friend or not.
I also want to let you know that these insights about simplicity are not only from my own experiences, but from clients and personal relationships as well. The results are very similar. Regardless, most people say that they want certain things in their lives, but their actions and the choices they make, conscious or unconscious, are not congruent with what they are saying. For the most part, I believe that what they want is very simple, but how they go about it, complicates their lives and those around them.
Let me just share a few examples for the benefit of clarity. People who say that they don’t like having to do anything they don’t want to do and once I start talking to them, their lives are full of commitments and routines. Or people who say that there is nothing more important to them than their children. And when I take a closer look, the amount of quality time they spend with their children daily is less than one hour, if even that. So the question is, why do they complicate their lives?
Although it may sound like a cliche, when I look around all I see is Life Energy expressing itself through everything. And whether or not I completely understand how it all works, it doesn’t really matter. I know that no matter what I am doing, if I am doing it with JOY, things have a way of always falling into place. I also noticed that whenever I am more loving and consciously appreciate everything in and around me, the quality of my experiences significantly improve. I focus on what brings more life to all and I only participate in things that support the beauty of all humanity, animals and nature EQUALLY. I truly believe this type of simplicity is the key to why I naturally live my life with full enthusiasm, gratitude and contentment.
I would like to end by sharing with you what I am now using as the most tangible way to bring simplicity into my life. “Say what you mean, and mean what you say”. And if you are thinking, “Yeah, but…”, I would like for you to then question why are you even having that thought? Think about it. For some reason you had the need to defend yourself, justify your position or make something O.K., when the truth is that you are just reading an article that grabbed your attention. Unless you think that you may have attracted this for a bigger reason. That’s for you to decide!
Anyway, the truth is that most people don’t pay attention to what they think or say and consequently do the things they do. And even if you bring things to their attention, it seems as though you are talking a foreign language because the choices they are making is limiting their ability to see things differently.
‘The Secret is Simplicity’ and Order is the First Law of the Universe. My suggestion is that before you continue with your life the way it is, that you re-evaluate your priorities and consciously decide if they are congruent with what you say is important or not! If at the end of the day you have no regrets, then you are making great progress. Just be honest with yourself, otherwise you will regret it later!
Love and appreciation,
Darsana
